Workplace Injury Assessments

When someone is injured at work, we help them get the healthcare and rehabilitation they need. If it’s a serious injury, the employer must report it to the Workers’ Compensation Board and Occupational Health and Safety. Even minor injuries should be reported for documentation.

To start a compensation claim for a work-related injury, the employer, the injured worker, or the treating physician must report it to WorkSafeBC.

After a motor vehicle accident, an assessment evaluates the person’s social, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural functioning. This may lead to diagnoses or recommendations related to trauma. The assessment may include interviews, testing, and more. The physician will share a report with the individual and their insurance provider.

Under the Workers Compensation Act, report to WorkSafeBC within 72 hours if a first aid attendant recommends medical treatment or if the injury requires it.
